Dr. Al-Jafari is the General Director of The Deposit Insurance Corporation, Jordan (JODIC).He is responsible for implementing the Corporation's general policy, supervising the administrative apparatus and communicating the Board. Prior to joining JODIC, Dr. Al-Jafari worked from 2002 to 2003, as a Commissioner for Finance and Administration in Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority. He was heavily engaged in strategic, operational planning and Board communications, contributing to the preparation of the general policy and assessing performance. From 1998 to 2002, as a Head of Financial Analysis and Monetary Research Unit – Open Market Operations Department at the Central Bank of Jordan, he was responsible for designing monetary policy tools, capital market and money market products related to operating framework of monetary policy and managing the central bank’s portfolio of domestic securities. In 1994, as a Head of External Sector and Balance of Payments Division–Research and Studies Department, he was responsible for monitoring world economic performance and reforms and analyzing contemporary and expected future development. From 1986 to 1994, he was an Economic Researcher and promoted to a Head of Monetary Affairs Division (1992-1994). Dr. Al Jafari served as a Board Member at different governmental organizations. His wide deep experience is reflected in his own publications and lectures. Dr. Al-Jafari received his BA. and Msc. in Economics from Jordan Universities, and Ph.D. in Finance from Manchester Business School, England.
