  • April 1994 - 2000:   Director of Foreign Exchange Regulation and  Supervision Department within the National Bank of Romania, department in charge of drawing up all foreign exchange regulations, including the Foreign Exchange Regulation, as well as of the authorisation and control of the foreign exchange operations 
  • March 1991 – March 1994: head of the Regulation Division within the Foreign Currency Control Office, National Bank of Romania
  • July 1987 – March 1991: principal economist III and subsequently specialised principal inspector within the International Cooperation Division, Ministry of Finance
  • July 1980 – June 1987: economist within the Foreign Operations Department of the State Insurance Administration

    • In the said positions, I was also in charge of the transposition of the acquis communitaire in the field of capital movements and financial services, including deposit insurance.
